About the Club

U21-B Hurling Final 2012 -3-wmNestled in the GAA heartland of Co. Clare, St Joseph’s Doora Barefield  is a thriving modern GAA Club with a burgeoning membership. Our exciting new facility at Gurteen is a development we are are extremely proud of. With three playing pitches, state of the art floodlighting for both grass and astro turf surfaces, our vision of being able to cater for the ever increasing population of the parish over the next thirty to forty years is quickly coming to fruition.

With the countless number of volunteers who give so freely of their time, be they involved in hurling or football, camogie or ladies football and be it with adults or underage, we have an excellent mix of old and new members working together for the promotion and coaching of our national games and for the good of their club.

The Minor club caters for over 300 boy’s form Under 6’s to Under 18’s in both hurling and football. Camogie and ladies football has grown at underage level over the last decade. The senior club founded in 1887 is a club with a proud tradition. March 17th 1999 was the clubs proudest day when St Josephs Doora Barefield were crowned All Ireland Club Champions. Today the  senior club caters for seven adult teams in both codes.
