Welcome to our Healthy Club!
St. Joseph’s Doora Barefield are delighted to be one of 600 clubs taking part in the Irish Life Healthy Clubs Project. This project empowers our GAA club to become a hub for health promotion, addressing a wide array of areas including physical activity, mental fitness, community development, diversity and inclusion, substance use, and healthy eating. Our aim is to ensure that everyone who engages with our club benefits from the experience in a health-enhancing way, be they players, officers, coaches, parents, supporters, or members of our local community. Over the coming months, we will be launching various projects aimed at promoting health and well-being within our club and community. Stay tuned to our social media channels as we share updates and information about these exciting initiatives.
The Irish Life Healthy Clubs programme which began in 2013 is supported by Irish Life, as well as Healthy Ireland, the HSE, National Office for Suicide Prevention (NOSP), and the Tomar Trust philanthropic organisation.
If you are interested in getting involved or have an idea to share with the Healthy Club Project you can contact the Healthy Club Officer, Evelyn Ball by email at [email protected] or by phone on 087 611 84 69.
