St’Joseph’s Doora Barefield Boys U14 Feile Football Game 2

The parish are represented on two fronts in Feile with the U14 boys and U14 girls travelling to Cavan having both won out in the Clare Feile competitions.

Both teams met up in Gurteen on Friday morning for the send off for the trip to Cavan. The boys being hosted by Killygarry GAA and the girls by Lavey GAA.

Doora Barefield 4-08  Killinkere 0-02

With a fifteen break between the games, the boys were in action against local team Killinkere from Cavan who had drawn their first game with our hosts Killygarry.

Killinkere started quickly with a point and were on top for the first five minutes. Doora Barefield settled down and with goals from Cian Lahiffe, Mark Moloney and Nicki Hardiman with pints from Eoghan Talty, Daragh Nagle and Joseph Raftery, the parish boys led at half time 3-06 to 0-01.

They continued in the second half to dominate and further points from Cian Lahiffe and James Curran and a second goal from Mark Moloney finished the game off with final scoreline of Doora Barefield 4-08 to Killinkere 0-02.

The boys have the final game in the group at 11am versus our host club, Killygarry. The boys are in a strong position to reach the quarter final.

Meanwhile, the U14 girls have made a great start to their Feile with two wins in their first two games.
