Townies Weather Parish Storm Just About
Eire Og kept their 100 percent record just about when they had a 2 point narrow win over the parish lads in Gurteen on Sat evening. Gavin Cooney from Eire Og eased them into 1.08 to 6 points the first half. St Joseph’s were not going to roll over when it went 1.10 to 7 points, points from Cathal Duggan, Tom Hannan, and great 45 from Tom O’Brien give the parish confidence to flight back with in a kick of a ball at the end. It was to close at the end when Cathal Duggan took a free which hit the upright 5 mins from the end which would have left a point in it. The Townies held on to a narrow win and done all in their power to stop the come back wave from the parish lads another 5 mins the Doora lads would have pulled it out of the fire if the Ref would have played the given extra time that was available.
