St. Joseph’s 5-6 (21) Newmarket 2-3 (9)
St. Joseph’s defeated Newmarket in the U14-B championship in Newmarket on Wednesday evening.
Both teams were very evenly matched in the opening half, with St. Jospehs playing against a string wind and trailing at the break.
Both teams fought honestly throughout, with little sepeating the teams. This was St. Jospeh’s first win in the campaign so far, after loosing very tight battles to Ballyhea, Tulla and Sixmilebridge.
St. Joseph goal scorers included Amber Pigott, Katie Callaghan, Jemma Leetham, Avril Lillis & Ciara Noone. Others including Sinead O’Connor, Laura Butler, Shaune Moloney and Hannah Doyle were also excellent – as indeed were the U12 contingent of Kate, Rachel and Sophie. St. Joseph’s now face Clooney, Crusheen and Kilmaley in their remaining games
