Junior B semi final St. Joseph’s V Parteen
St. Joseph’s had a comprehensive win over Parteen on Friday night last to earn themselves a well deserved spot in this years Junior B final.
Two goals from Aoife Shannon and another from Aisling Reidy in the first half as well as seven consecutive points from Shannon, Reidy, Alannah Meaney and Kiera McGrath left spectators under no illusions as to the hunger this Joseph’s side had to progress to contest this years final against Truagh Clonlara.
Parteen managed a single point in this half by Sarah Hall leaving half time score St. Joseph’s 3-7 Parteen 1 point.
With an uphill battle to climb Parteen dug deep in the second half and again Hall supplied three points for her side as well as Catherine Danaher adding one and an agile Vanessa Killackey putting a goal and a point on her sides scoresheet, but it wasn’t enough to stop the dominant maroon and white girls. With Shannon, McGrath, Amy Lenihan & Leanne Meaney raising green and white flags between them, the curtin closed under lights in Gurteen St. Joseph’s 6-10, Parteen 1-6
