Junior B Lg RD 2 V Clooney/Quin

Clooney/Quin travelled to Gurteen for last Wednesdays fourth round division three league tie with St. Josephs. There wasn’t much between the sides throughout, it was nip and tuck with just the minimum between the sides with ten minutes remaining of the opening half.  Sinead Considine and Roisín Keogh pointed for the visitors with Ciara Whelan and Keira McGrath scoring  the homeside’s tally of 1-2. Clooney/Quin hit 1-3 without reply in the closing minutes to go three points clear 1-5 to 1-2 at the interval.

It took the winners a while to hit the target, but were soon back on level terms with a goal by Keira McGrath. Both sides exchanged points midway through the second half, with scores from Hannah Meaney, Keira McGrath, Roisín Keogh and Sinead Considine,
before Ciara Duggan and Keira McGrath pointed for the homeside.  Clooney/Quin slotted a goal in the 24th minute of the game, but it was not enough as the parish closed out the encounter scoring 1-3 in the final minutes of the game to secure a win.
Laura Hayes, Keira McGrath and Ciara Whelan worked hard throughout while Sinead Considine and Roisín Keogh got through some good work for Clooney/Quin.
